
Orange Birthday Cake from JoyC
1/2 cup Mazola
1 cup sugar
1 egg
4 egg yolks
1 teaspoon orange extract
1/3 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
1 1/2 cups flour
1/4 cup Argo or Kingsford's Cornstarch
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
Pour the Mazola into a bowl, add the sugar and the egg and egg yolks,
beaten creamy. Cream till all the graininess has disappeared, and add
the extract and salt. Sift together the flour, cornstarch and baking powder
and add alternately to the first mixture, with milk. Beat two or three
minutes, transfer to a tube pan lightly oiled with Mazola, and bake forty-five
minutes in a moderately hot oven, 350° to 375°F. Cool, brush off
the crumbs and decorate with Ornamental Icing. Fill the "hole"
in the center with tiny favors or with fresh flowers. Put the cake on
a small tray covered with a paper doily, and wreathe with flowers.

Sparkle Punch

2 46 oz cans pineapple
juice
3 cups orange juice
1 1/2 cups lemon juice
1/3 cup lime juice
2 1/3 cups sugar
ice
4 liters ginger ale, chilled
2 liters of carbonated water, chilled
orange and lime slices (optional)
Combine juices and
sugar and chill several hours. Just before serving place juice mixture
and ice in a large punch bowl. Carefully pour ginger ale and carbonated
water and add fruitslices for garnish. Now two different ways for this
punch...one you can freeze thefirst part and then thaw in punch bowls
a couple hours and then add gingerale and carbonated water. Freeze in
smaller portions and then it thaws quickly andyou can thaw only enough
for one pitcher etc. Makes 75 servings.
Ice Ring Tip:
Take a bundt pan and fill it partially with the gingerale andthen float
the fruit slices. Freeze. When ready to serve punch, float the ringin
the punch, as it dissolves it won't be watery, but will add flavor to
the punch.
Note: For smaller servings, recipe can be cut in half.
Strawberry Punch

4 cups fresh or frozen
strawberries, thawed
1 3 oz. package strawberry Jell-O
1cup boiling water
1 6 oz. can frozen lemonade
32 oz. cranberry cocktail
2 cups cold water
28 oz. 7-up
Puree
strawberries in a blender. Dissolve Jell-O in the boilingwater. Stir in
lemonade. Transfer to punch bowl. Add remainingingredients. Stir gently
and add ice. Serves 25-30.
Fruit Punch

nice non-alcoholic
fruit punch recipe made with tea
3 cups
prepared tea
3 cups water
1 cup sugar
2 cups orange juice
1 cup lemon juice
1 can frozen pineapple juice
1 liter ginger ale
Bring
water and sugar to a boil. In pitcher or punch bowl, pour tea, sugar water
and remainingingredients except ginger ale and frozen juice. Mix well.
Add ginger ale and frozen juice when ready to serve.
